CCPN and JCCP made independence from LSE

During the period of developing CCPN Global's website many ongoing work had been carried on with its LSE's email ccpn@lse.ac.uk and jccp@lse.ac.uk accounts which were valid until September 2013. It was very helpful in the transitional period after CCPN website was closed at LSE in March. In July both  CCPN and JCCP made announcements respectively for their independence from LSE. See below (Chinese version omitted):

I. CCPN's announcement

Dear all,

CCPN Global, formerly known as CCPN (China in Comparative Perspective Network) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), was launched as an academic society in March 2013.

  • CCPN Global website is the only bilingual site in the English speaking world which focuses on the social scientific study of China: www.ccpn-global.org/cn
  • CCPN Global is an academic society for the study of China & the Chinese from a comparative perspective www.ccpn-global.org
  • CCPN Global runs the only peer-reviewed bilingual journal for social scientific studies on China in the world www.journal.ccpn-global.org
  • CCPN Global is making a world publich platform for globalization of knowledge from a Chinese perspective www.china4global.com

The common character of the above websites is that they are ‘ego centered networks’ by nature. We therefore made 3 blogs for each of them which provide platforms for readers and users to interact with the sites and each other.

The above websites and blogs are in use while they are being built. This principle is akin to China's development style, and in allows you early access to our resources. There is however still a huge amount of work to be done. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

CCPN Global aims to become a world-class focus for research on issues or themes relating to China and the Chinese from a comparative perspective and produces both global public good and global public goods.

We would like to express our huge thanks to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for frosting and hosting the CCPN for 10 years (2004 to 2013). Please replace ccpn@lse.ac.uk with info@ccpn-global.org from your address book.

Your understanding, participation and generous support are highly appreciated!

II. JCCP's announcement

Dear all,

The Journal of China in Comparative Perspective (JCCP) is the only peer-reviewed bilingual journal for social scientific studies of China in the world, published  in both print and electronic versions biannually, by the China in Comparative Perspective Network (CCPN) at LSE before 2013 and by CCPN Global from 2013.

Due to financial problems we were unable to publish previous edited issues when JCCP was at LSE before 2013.

Thanks to the Sun Yat-sen University of China we are now able to release all the previous edited issues in 2013 and we will continue to provide this service on a regular basis to the academic community.

Special thanks to Dr Geoffrey Gowlland, the Editor of the Bijiao: China in Comparative Perspective Book Review (ISSN: 2045-0680) for editing the book review from 2011 to 2012.

Our thanks also go to Dr Kent Deng, Economic History, the former Editor of CCPN publications, for his effort and support, as well as Dr Victor Teo and Dr Goncalo Santos, both former LSE Fellows for the MSc China in Comparative Perspective, and Dr Sergey Radchenko, the former LSE Fellow of the History of International Relations. These have all contributed hard work in initializing the JCCP and involvement with the JCCP.

We are extremely grateful to all the members of the Editorial Board and the International Advisory Board for staying with us throughout a difficult period and being so supportive to the JCCP.

We will never forget Professor Stephan Feuchtwang, the former Editor-in-chief of all the CCPN publications including and Bijiao: China in Comparative Perspective (ISSN 2043-0434) and the working paper series (ISSN: 2043-0434), for his dedication and valued advice in laying the foundations for CCPN publications and his commitment to help with the book review of JCCP in the future.

Although both the book review and working paper series will be discontinued as separate publications from 2013, the review pieces and essays and working papers will be made available in the JCCP.

We would like to express our huge thanks to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for frosting and support JCPN. Please replace jccp@lse.ac.uk with journal@ccpn-global.org from your address book.

A call for papers and themes in future issues of the journal will be made in due course.

Your understanding, participation and continually generous support are highly appreciated!
